Wordpress is a content management system that provides the tools and system for setting up your blog.
Lorelle writes a great post on the different types of Wordpress systems.
Personally, I wanted to get into the behind the scenes of the blog-own my domain, understand the code, hosting, design, etc. Therefore, I chose to go with the full version of Wordpress.
I have to say despite being new to the world of blogging, the community is terrific at not only building added features such as plugins and widgets (since Wordpress is an open source platform) but supporting them as well.
Overall, it’s been a great experience. I’ve learned a ton and continue to update my blog with the cool plugins and widgets that are constantly being developed by Wordpress users.
