Free Everything…with Advertising?

CNN Money provides an interesting post in which Eric Schmidt of Google discusses the possibility of users receiving their cell phones for free if they are willing to watch targeted advertising. Could it happen? I wouldn’t be surprised.

In a course at b-school, we talked about the potential for airlines to offer free flights in exchange for ads being served right at your seat. Imagine, as an advertiser, having a captive audience for 2, 3, even 12 hours. Pretty interesting….

Do I see goods and services going for no charge in exchange for advertising? Yes. How far it will go or how long it will take remains to be seen.
