Social Networking Tops 2006 Search Terms

According to a Google Press release, Social networking sites top the list this year’s most searched queries.
Google announced its findings at its annual Zeitgeist, featuring lists and charts of the most popular and fastest-rising global search terms that people have typed into Google.com.
Check out the site to read all about what spurred people’s collective curiosity in 2006.
So What? Not a necessarily a surprising fact (that Social networking topped the list), but considering all that’s happened in the Web 2.0 world along the lines of video, blogging, widgets, etc., it’s still an interesting fact.
