Toolbars, Toolbars Everywhere

Is it me or does it seem like everyone has a toolbar these days? I was looking at updating my Snap preview code (to account for the new customization that the product offers) and found that they too have a tool bar for search.

Now I think their product is cool but I’m not going to shrink my (already) limited viewing real estate to accomodate yet another toolbar. I already use toolbars from Google and Yahoo (yes, strange I know but I use both products) and can’t see room for much more.
Why do people install toolbars? Is it just for ease of use? To access info they seek often? I know people who use the ebay toolbar for monitoring for sale/to buy items, which seems logical especially if you’re a power user of ebay.
So why do you use toolbars? And which ones do you use?

I’ve cut it down to two: the pre-installed Firefox/Google bar, and StumbleUpon. SU is for fun, the Google bar is for utility. Except I’ve actually overridden the Google bar with YubNub. Have you checked it out? It’s great — they call themselves a social command line for the web.
