What’s Next on Blog Sidebars?

Now that the novelty of mybloglog has come and gone. I can’t help but question what the next sidebar tool will be. I’ve often wondered with the increasing bandwidth that’s arisen from broadband adoption, when will people interact more with the author beyond posting comments.
Well, I may have to wonder no more. Mashable reports on a company called flikzor. A product which allows you to send and receive video comments on your blog or myspace page.
The company asserts that you can use flikzor to:
* send and receive video messages with your friends
* send receive video comments on your MySpace pages and blogs - comments will be viewable in the flikzor widget by everyone who visits your profile!
* get feedback from your customers, blog readers, or web site visitors in a way you never have before
* display video testimonials on your web site or blog
So What? Will 2007 be the beginning of more personal, visual interaction between users of sites, social networks, etc.? As I often say, I don’t know. However, it certainly is becoming easier to imagine folks interacting with one another beyond just text. As the rise of watching and creating video for social purposes becomes main stream, I really wouldn’t be surprised to see it foster more two-way conversations….we shall see.
Happy Friday.
