Wordpress Community-Plugins

Gotta love Wordpress and their community. Not only does the platform allow for easy to use Plugins, described by the site as, “…tools to extend the functionality of WordPress.”, they make life so much easier when seeking to improve the functionality of your site.
The open source environment that Wordpress promotes allows for any developer to design, build and support these plugins. Not only do users tend to build plugins, they create their own forums to answer questions and help less seasoned users, like me, employ their creations.
But this isn’t some behind the scenes geek community, companies see the merit of building their products with plugin functionality. For example, Sphere recently added a Wordpress plugin (featured on this site), allowing users to read contextually relevant content from other sites-a great move to build buzz and get the product in the hands of early adopters.
There are even blogs that are devoted solely to Wordpress, some spending a lot time talking about plugins such as Lorelle and Quick Online Tips.
Anyway, if you’re considering a blogging platform and are willing to take the time to learn the technology behind your blog, Wordpress is a great choice for you.
