5 Reasons I Blog
In Marketing & SEO | 4 comments | permalink
So I have been tagged by Deborah at Life in the Fast Lane with the Top 5 Reasons for Blogging meme.
- Technology: I’m fascinated by technology at blogging gives me a greater insight into the behind the scenes workings of blogs, widgets, new sites, etc. By using Wordpress, buying a domain, working with a hosting company, I’ve really gained more insight into all that goes on behind the scenes of blogs and the technical side of media.
- Writing: I enjoy writing. Blogging gives me an outlet to put my thoughts or observations on “paper.” It’s certainly not the most well-written material out there, but it satisfies my desire to share my thoughts with the world.
- Community Building: The Blogosphere is a whole community in and of itself. I’m often amazed by the willingness to build and share personal creations such as plugins, tools and general insight with others. Several times I have encountered issues with my blog only to have others offer their assistance in fixing the problem.
- Information: I’m a firm believer in the power of information. My role in business development for the Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive, requires me to stay on the cutting edge of technology. People who blog often have unique opinions, insights and even information that you may not get in main stream media.
- Creativity: Blogging allows me to flex my creative muscles by building a web site to my liking with the look & feel as well as features and functionality that I want to offer to my readers. Working with designers, getting ideas from other blogs and employing new technology on my site is a lot of fun.
So that’s my list. Now I’ll tag:
ZZ of Medyasyon
Matt of The Digital Perm
Jeff B of Media Landscaping

Great post Brendan. Thanks for participating
Why not?…
Gang, I have been out of the groove for quite some time now - guess you could say stuck in a rut. Blame the weather - great weather that is. Blame work - wow busy. But when that does happen,…
You got me out of a rut. Thanks man!
